Six years ago, 12 year old Katie Francis from Oklahoma City broke the Girl Scout record for Girl Scout cookies sold. She sold 21,200 boxes in seven weeks. In 2015 she broke her own record and sold 22,200 boxes in seven weeks. In total she ended up selling over 100,000 boxes of cookies during her seven years as a Girl Scout. Now, we can learn a lot about this young entrepreneur. During an interview March 17th, 2017 with Alexis Christoforous of Yahoo Finance, Katie gave 5 tips on how she accomplished the feat.
· Have fun
· Enjoy what you do
· Know your product
· Always dress professionally
· And wear a smile
Seeing the wise and creative advice that Katie gave at such a young age is inspiring to say the least. Did Katie have bad days? Probably, but she never allowed those bad days to turn into bad weeks. For lack of better terms, she constantly made lemonade out of lemons (or should I say lemonades).
